The purpose and functions of the position are described in the Recruit and Fill a Position: Purpose & Functions section, which can be accessed from the Recruit and Fill a Position: Salary & Funding section in the Walk-me-through mode and follows that section in the All-in-one mode.

If you desire, provide a position title in the first text box. The remainder of the Recruit and Fill a Position: Purpose & Functions section is divided into the following subsections:
- In the text box provided, describe the purpose of the position.

Functions
- Indicate whether driving a personal or UT vehicle is a function of the position.
- List the position's essential functions in the text boxes provided. Use the function boxes to describe the position's primary function and the corresponding percentages of work time required. Percentages for all listed functions must total 100.
- Describe any marginal/incidental functions related to the position, specifically those functions that constitute less than 5% of the position's overall functions.
Under Supervisory Information, indicate whether the position has supervisory responsibilities. If the position supervises others, select Yes to view additional options applicable to the position. Describe the type of supervisory duties by checking the appropriate boxes: Hire, Evaluate, Discipline, Discharge, or Other. Enter the number of employees and/or students that the position will supervise.
