Modify a Position: Incumbent

The Modify Position: Incumbent section enables you to modify the incumbent's existing assignment. You can access this section by clicking Incumbent in the document navigation on the left side of the page.
Document summary information and a link that enables you to change your desk/view appear just below the page header. To review position attributes, click the View Position Details link for the Position ID displayed.
The Modify a Position: Incumbent section is divided as follows:

General
HRMS will indicate this is an existing assignment.
Click the link to view the incumbent's History page.
- Cancel Assignment – Check this box to cancel the incumbent's assignment. HRMS advises you that no other incumbent changes can be made to the document and that all saved changes will be lost by taking this action. A reason must be supplied for cancelling the assignment.
- Incumbent (EID) – The incumbent's name and EID are displayed. Click the EID to view the corresponding Employee Profile.
- Assignment Start Date – If applicable, modify the start date of the incumbent's assignment.
- Assignment End Date – If applicable, modify the date on which the incumbent's assignment ends. All university affiliates must have an end date on their assignments. See University Affiliate Requirements by Type (.pdf) for more information.
- Reason – If applicable, modify the reason for the end of the assignment.
- Hours Per Week – If applicable, modify the hours per week the incumbent is expected to work.
- Contact EID – If applicable, modify the EID of the UT employee who administers the university affiliate's assignment.
- Sponsor EID – If applicable, modify the individual who represents and vouches for the university affiliate.
- Academic Level – If applicable, use the drop-down menu to modify the university affiliate's academic status.
- External Organization – If applicable, modify the organization with which the university affiliate is a associated.
- Concurrent Assignments – The incumbent's assignments to other positions are listed. Click the listed position ID to go to the corresponding View Position Details page for that position. Click More... to see a additional entries.
Buttons located at the bottom of the section allow you to take these actions:
- Save saves your work and identifies errors and/or warnings on the page.
- Save & Finish saves your current work and directs you to the Document Review page.
