Browser Settings
For optimal access, security, and performance when using the HRMS system, download one of these free browsers recommended and supported by The University of Texas at Austin. A link to each product's download page is provided:
- Firefox 3.0 or higher (get latest Firefox browser)
- Safari 4.0 or higher for Macintosh (get latest Safari browser)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher for Windows (get latest PC IE browser)
There may be some areas of HRMS that do not display or perform as intended with non-supported browsers or earlier versions of these browsers. We recommend Firefox as the fastest and most stable browser when using HRMS.

- Setting a Minimum Font Size
To make pages easier to read, you can set Firefox to use a minimum font size. On Web pages that display text smaller than your setting, Firefox automatically enlarges the text to your preferred size.
- To set a minimum font size, go to Tools > Options.
- Select the Content icon at the top of the Options window.
- In the Fonts & Colors section, use the drop-down menus to select a default font and size. Font sizes are displayed in pixels rather than in points.
-
Click the Advanced button.
-
On the drop-down menu labeled "Minimum font size," select a size.
- Click OK.
- Resizing Page Text
You can also temporarily modify font size to improve the readability of a specific Web site.
- To change the text size, go to View > Text Zoom.
- Click Zoom In or use the keyboard shortcut Control++ to enlarge the text 120%.
- Click Zoom Out or use the keyboard shortcut Control+- to reduce the text by 90%.
- Click Reset or use the keyboard shortcut Control+0 to return to the default text size.
NOTE: Your selected minimum font size will remain in effect until you change it again using these steps. The change may also cause some Web pages to display incorrectly.
NOTE: The new size will remain in effect until you close your Firefox browser window or tab. Increasing or decreasing the text size may cause some Web pages to display incorrectly.
