*DEFINE Signer Desk Authorizations
A Signer Desk is a group of up to eight people who have signature authority on electronic documents. There is one Signer Desk per master view, but there may be different signers specified for different electronic documents. Signer Desk authorizations determine who is authorized to final approve electronic documents. Authorizations are controlled by the office manager and are determined by the master view to which a unit, budget group, or account belongs. Signers can only be updated by the office manager, who is also the default signer. You can access this page from the *DEFINE system link located on the Employee Authorizations page.
The screen below lists the Signer Desk, Master View, and Campus for various *DEFINE Office applications.
- The column titled *DEFINE Office refers to the electronic desk that managers and delegates use to maintain authorizations and routing.
- A Signer Desk is the final desk in an electronic document’s departmental routing path.
- Master View is an account grouping that controls electronic document routing. Whenever a unit is assigned to an electronic office, a master view for that unit is automatically generated. Master views may contain units and/or accounts.
- Campus refers to the nine academic institutions in The University of Texas System. Each has an assigned code.
- If the user has a large number of authorizations, a button may appear at the bottom of the screen. Click the button to view additional entries.
